The Directorate General Law & Human Rights, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with UNDP Pakistan under Haqooq-e-Pakistan Phase-II (EU-Funded Project) and IMSciences, Peshawar, commemorated International Human Rights Day on 3rd December 2025, highlighting this year’s theme: “Human Rights: Everyday Essential.”
Mr. Aftab Alam, Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs & Human Rights, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accessible justice and human rights protection. Mr. Ghulam Ali, DG Law & Human Rights, shared key provincial initiatives, while Malik Kamran Azam Rajar, Technical Lead UNDP, appreciated collective efforts of government, academia, and civil society. Mr. Usman Ghani, Director IMSciences, highlighted the role of education in fostering rights-conscious youth.
A video competition awarded cash prizes: 🏆 PKR 100,000, 🥈 PKR 50,000, 🥉 PKR 30,000, plus commemorative souvenirs. 10 NGOs were also honored for their contributions.
