• Two days workshop to design human rights outreach and advocacy strategy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

    imgThe Directorate of Human Rights in collaboration with the UNDP held a two days workshop to design human rights outreach and advocacy strategy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Representative from Provincial Departments attended the workshop. The Director, Human Rights while opening the workshop, thanked the participants and asked them to give suggestions as to how they can contribute in the outreach strategy. During the discussion participants gave proposal which included involvement of Ulemas, training of teachers, activities with school children, involvement of local elected representatives and changes in the curriculum. Final draft will be prepared after the 2nd phase of the workshop. Secretary Law, Mr. Mukhtiar Ahmad presided the closing session of the workshop. In his remarks the Secretary Law emphasized the need to design a monitoring and assessment mechanism for the proposed strategy. He further advised to engage with the training institute to include human rights subjects in their training modules. In the end the Secretary Law appreciated the efforts of Directorate of Human Rights and UNDP in the Promotion of human Rights in the Province. The Director, Human Rights thanked the Secretary Law, UNDP and the participants of the workshop for their valuable inputs and participants.
